Karen began her educational career as a Health Science and Science teacher in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Karen began her work in transformation when Lawrence High School lost its accreditation. Karen was tapped to help lead the work and guide this transformation with a focus on STEM.

Karen was hired at the Manchester School of Technology (MST) in Manchester, NH, mid-year, and found out on day one that she had to complete a $10 million renovation proposal in three months. MST was a stand-alone Career and Technical Education Center where students attended each day for two years for a career program that most people know as “vocational education.” Upon renovation being completed, Karen was asked to create a proposal for a full-time innovative high school that incorporated the aspects of CTE, which is competency-based education.  During this time, Karen began her work with 2Revolutions. Through Karen’s leadership with present and transferred staff, the school started to blossom and received state board approval within only six months. The road was rocky at first, but today this school has been published and visited by worldwide education experts. MST is celebrated as the shining star of success in the Manchester School District for having the highest graduation and attendance rate and has the best new enrollment of all schools.
