Charles Colten is a teacher, educational consultant, curriculum designer, artist, writer, father, and director of the Confluence Institute for Research, Communication, Leadership, and Education (www.circle123.org). He is also the founding director and chief instructor of Aikido in the Schools. He is currently on the Faculty of the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution in New York City, regularly teaches at NYU, is an Aikido Sensei, and conducts seminars on the science-and-art of teaching. Charles strongly believes that great teachers make great education come alive, so he developed “Teaching for Mastery”; a Professional Development course, which communicates advances in pedagogy through usable and engaging chunks.
