Amy became Principal of Parker-Varney Elementary in January of 2013. Her focus was on raising achievement for all students, closing the achievement gap, preparing graduates for college and career, and supporting educator effectiveness in innovative and transformative ways. In January of 2013, Parker-Varney was listed as a Priority School based on several years of underachievement. In May of 2015, Parker-Varney won the NH School of Excellence Award. In 2016, Parker- Varney also won the National School Innovation and Change Award. Parker-Varney’s turnaround work focused on Project-Based Learning and Personalized Learning for its teachers and students. In November of 2017, Amy became the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary and Innovation for the Manchester School District. Her work has been focused on equity and scaling high-quality project-based learning. She teaches Special Education Law in the University of New Hampshire system. She is also an ongoing faculty member in 2Revolutions’ innovative graduate programs.
